Description
The Axial Piston High Pressure Pump HPS 16~21 is a two-port pump primarily designed for use in pump group systems for wastewater treatment. This pump is not designed to draw water directly; positive inlet pressure is required for proper operation. Failure to maintain positive inlet pressure can result in permanent damage to the pump.
Inlet Pressure Requirements:
- To ensure positive inlet pressure, disconnect the inlet pipe and measure the flow. When the water tank is at its lowest liquid level, the water supply flow must be at least 20% greater than the pump’s delivery flow to maintain positive pressure during operation.
- Do not install a filter between the pump and the water tank in direct water supply systems unless a pressure switch is installed on the inlet pipe to prevent negative pressure.
Electric Pump Set:
The pump should be connected to a B5 motor flange using a standard bell housing and coupling. To avoid damage, the pump must not be subjected to axial or radial loads on the output shaft. Whenever possible, use gear couplings for added reliability.
Operating Temperature Range:
The HPS 16~21 operates efficiently in temperatures ranging from 2°C to 50°C.
- For temperatures below freezing, use environmentally friendly antifreeze.
- For temperatures above 50°C, the pump’s volumetric efficiency may decrease. Specify the maximum operating temperature during the ordering process if operation above 50°C is required.
Filtration:
All water entering the pump must be pre-filtered to a nominal rating of 10µm (absolute value of 25µm).
- For closed-loop systems, backflow filtration is an option.
- High-pressure filtration is also possible but may be a more costly solution.
Fluid Compatibility:
The standard HPS 16~21 pump is suitable for:
- Drinking water
- Industrial water (e.g., distilled water, reverse osmosis water, or demineralized water)
Depending on the operating environment, modifications to sealing materials or structural components may be necessary.
The pump is also compatible with seawater in standard construction; however, due to the liquid’s higher corrosion potential, long-term operation may require the use of higher-quality materials to enhance durability and reliability.
