Description
Design and Usage
HPR/H 20-40 water mist pumps are designed with two ports and are primarily utilized in pump group systems. These pumps are not self-priming, so the inlet pressure must always remain positive. Failure to maintain positive inlet pressure can result in permanent pump damage.
To ensure reliable operation, remove the pump’s inlet pipe and measure the flow rate. When the water tank’s liquid level is at its lowest, the supply flow must exceed the pump’s delivery flow by at least 20%. This ensures positive inlet pressure is consistently maintained during operation.
Installation Recommendations
- Avoid installing a filter between the water tank and the pump for direct water supply setups unless a pressure switch is installed on the inlet pipe to prevent negative pressure at the pump inlet.
- Maintaining positive inlet pressure is critical to avoid operational failure.
Electric Pump Set
The pump should be connected to a B5 motor flange using a standard bell housing and coupling. The pump must not be subjected to axial or radial loads on its output shaft. Gear couplings are strongly recommended to minimize stress and ensure long-term durability.
Operating Temperature
HPR/H 20-40 pumps are designed for use in a temperature range of 2℃ to 50℃:
- Below 0℃, environmentally friendly antifreeze is required to prevent damage.
- Operation above 50℃ is possible, but it may reduce the volumetric efficiency of the pump. Specify the maximum operating temperature when placing an order for applications involving elevated temperatures.
Filtration
All water entering the pump must be pre-filtered with a nominal rating of 10 μm (absolute rating of 25 μm).
- Backflow filtration is acceptable for closed-loop systems.
- High-pressure filtration is an alternative option, but it is typically more expensive.
Fluid Compatibility
The standard pump configuration is compatible with potable water and industrial water, such as distilled water, reverse osmosis water, or demineralized water. Depending on the specific operating environment, modifications to sealing materials or internal structures may be necessary.
For seawater applications, the standard pump construction can be used. However, due to seawater’s high corrosive potential, extended operation may require higher-grade materials to ensure durability and reliability over time.
