Description
The Axial Piston High Pressure Pump HPS 11~13 is designed for two-port configurations and is primarily used in pump group systems. This pump is not designed to draw water; the inlet pressure must always be positive to ensure proper operation. If positive inlet pressure cannot be maintained, it may lead to permanent damage to the pump.
Inlet Pressure Requirements:
To ensure consistent positive inlet pressure during operation, the simplest method is to disconnect the inlet pipe and measure the flow. When the water tank’s liquid level is at its lowest, the water supply flow should be at least 20% greater than the pump’s delivery flow. This guarantees that the pump inlet remains under positive pressure while in operation.
Important Installation Notes:
- No filter should be installed between the pump and water tank unless a pressure switch is also installed on the inlet pipe. This ensures that the pump’s inlet is not subjected to negative pressure.
- For systems with direct water supply, a pressure switch should be used to monitor and maintain positive inlet pressure.
Electric Pump Set:
The pump is typically coupled to a motor using a standard bell housing and coupling system designed for the B5 motor flange. To avoid any damage to the pump, axial or radial loads on the output shaft should be avoided, and gear couplings are recommended where possible.
Operating Temperature Range:
The HPS 11~13 pump operates optimally between 2°C and 50°C to achieve full performance. For temperatures below freezing, environmentally friendly antifreeze should be used. For temperatures exceeding 50°C, while operation is still possible, the pump’s volumetric efficiency may be affected. It is important to specify the maximum operating temperature when placing an order for the pump.
Filtration:
All water entering the pump must be pre-filtered to a nominal rating of 10µm (absolute value of 25µm). For closed-loop systems, backflow filtration is possible, and high-pressure filtration can also be considered, although this is a more expensive option.
Fluid Compatibility:
The standard HPS 11~13 pump is compatible with drinking water and industrial water (e.g., distilled water, reverse osmosis water, or demineralized water). Depending on the application, modifications to sealing materials or structural components may be necessary.
For seawater applications, the standard construction of the pump is suitable; however, due to the increased corrosion potential of seawater, longer-term operation may require higher-quality materials for enhanced durability and performance.
